"The approach we took was to focus exclusively on one area. Workers’ compensation law is the focus of our firm, and that allows us to be experts in this area," founding and managing partner Britany Bailey tells us.
Bailey Legal Group currently consists of 5 attorneys, including 3 equity partners, and support staff who are all trained in the intricacies of workers’ compensation law. As her specialty, Britany maintains focus on workers’ compensation, while her partners also focus on subrogation, general liability, and medical malpractice.

"There’s not much that keeps us up at night because we work really hard at getting ahead of each case as much as possible. Because we are workers’ compensation lawyers , we’re essentially in the business of denying claims on behalf of our clients," says Britany. "That means that we really strive to get as much information and documentation from our clients as possible, and to give our clients really well-organized and reasonable settlement proposals so that we can resolve the cases at the earliest possible point with a minimum of litigation, time, and expense. In the case of the People of the State of California v. Even Steven, the Bailey Legal Group didn’t represent Mr. Steven, they represented the victim. This case was a high-profile sex abuse case against the elementary school principle at a private school in the San Fernando Valley. Bailey Legal Group represented the 12 year old victim and her family, paralegal Michael O’Brien assisted in interview and trial settings.
The firm’s success in this case was not only experienced in the courtroom but also through the years after the case was resolved.last. The victims of child abuse require therapy for years after the crime was committed and Bailey Legal Group has continued to be an active part of their healing. While the firm doesn’t take on many cases like this one, it does have experience winning in sex abuse cases against teachers, doctors and other professionals when it comes to defending families’ rights to get justice for their children.
In 2006, Bailey Legal Group represented a 75 year old woman with dementia who was physically attacked by her caretaker in her own home. The manager of Bridgewood Assisted Living facility had been paying off a few of the workers to abuse customers. The worker was charged with elder abuse along with theft and embezzlement.
Older clients of the firm who had loved ones sexually abused or battered often required litigation and legal advice regarding those assailants who were in positions of power. It was in these cases where the attorneys at Bailey Legal Group could have the most impact on clients’ lives. The firms goal is to obtain justice and a strong sense of empowerment to the victims of physical, mental and financial abuse.
In this case, the firm represented the trust of a recently deceased man. The trustee, the widow, was being accused of cashing in annuities that were intended for the decedent’s grandchildren, her step sons. The petition began when the step sons attempted to have the trustee referee removed. The case was settled at a mediation after a short period of negotiation.

How to Connect with Bailey Legal Group
The first step to harnessing the value of their services is through initial consultation. The Bailey Legal Group recommends an in-person consultation to receive comprehensive feedback and for the team to accurately assess what services need to be provided. The first point of communication will usually be with Bill or Sarah Bailey so that they can establish a generalized idea of the legal goals of the person seeking legal services.
After establishing basic contact, they recommend a secondary meeting that takes place either at their office location, at the job site of the prospective client, or at their online remote meeting location. Typically, if the geography of the prospective client is within a one-day travel distance, then the lawyers travel to where the people or business that needs to receive legal assistance is located .
For most people, a general review of legal goals is a two (2) hour session that allow the lawyers to obtain the facts of the prospective client, and gives enough time for the lawyer to give ideas about the representation that they believe will be most meaningful. For businesses and organizations, usually a four (4) hour meeting is established.
After a single day meeting, you will often receive a letter of engagement that details the areas that the firm will seek compensation for and areas that they will provide free legal services. Most matters are provided on a sliding scale hourly rate, although fixed fee services are also offered.
